A To Z Bookish Survey

So I decided to do this mainly out of boredom, but also because I had a half day of school today and was even able to come home earlier than I planned. I also realized I was never posting…But I’m excited to share this so here we go!

Author you’ve read the most books from: I’d have to go with either Rick Riordan or Cassandra Clare. I’ve read both TMI and TID and also PJO and THOO. If my memory serves me correctly both of those authors have 9 books within those series….actually I did read the Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan so it would definitely be him.

Best sequel ever: This is hard, because I’m very picky with sequels, but I’m gonna go with Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas. I LOVED Throne of Glass and COM was even better. It was amazingly paced, I loved the plot, and in a rare occurrence, I didn’t hate the male characters and actually kind of liked them. It was a really good sequel overall, especially for a second book in a series.

Currently reading: Beauty Queens by Libba Bray (and absolutely loving it!)

Drink of choice while reading: Varies I guess, depending on where I’m reading and what time of day it is, but my favorite is tea or coffee.

E-reader or physical book?: Definitely physical books. I like e-readers, and I have one because I like the convenience but I definitely love having physical copies of books.

Fictional character you would have probably actually dated in high school: Wow, I’m actually not sure about this. I’m still in high school right now but maybe Simon Lewis if he was a girl? Or Hermione Granger! I feel like Luna Lovegood and I would be nice together as well.

Glad you gave this book a chance: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I actually tried reading this in sixth or seventh grade and didn’t enjoy the first part of the book, I just couldn’t get into it. But a year or two later I picked it up again and finally got through it and actually enjoyed it. I ended up continuing with the series and absolutely loving it.

Hidden gem book: I’m gonna take this as a book that’s so amazing but people don’t really know about it so for this I’m choosing Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides! It’s my number 1 favorite book but I never see anyone talk about it. I actually picked it up on a whim one day, not knowing much about it and got the best book out of it.

Important moment in your reading life: I’m gonna be a cliche and say Harry Potter. I read them in elementary school and literally have not stopped reading since.

Just finished: Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore

Kinds of books you won’t read: YA that revolves around straight romance, especially things like Anna and the French Kiss or even fantasy that has straight romance that annoys me. I don’t relate to it and books have a bad habit of treating abusive male characters or male characters that are jerks as good people or “mysterious and tortured” because they have a bad past. It’s not an excuse to treat your girlfriend or anyone like shit. It makes me so angry. I also will never read another John Green book. He’s trash.

Longest book you’ve read: Les Miserables by Victor Hugo

Major book hangover because of: I’m still in a book hangover because of the Deathly Hallows

Number of bookcases you own: One tall one stuffed with books and with books piled in front of it.

One book you have read multiple times: Probably Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Preferred place to read: I usually end up reading at my desk in school but I really prefer the armchair at home. It’s hard because no one ever leaves me alone and I hate reading in bed (I need to be sitting up with something behind my back) but I manage. I would love to get out of the house to read to be quite honest.

Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read: Not something I’ve really thought about so I’m going to pass for now

Reading regret: the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. They suck.

Series you started but need to finish: The Golden Compass series…I only have one left!, Across the Universe trilogy by Beth Revis, and Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness

Three of your all-time favorite books: Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides, The Book Thief by Markus Zusack, and I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson or The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Unapologetic fangirl for: Patrick Ness….his writing style

Very excited for this release more than all others: You know what, I really couldn’t tell you right now.

Worst bookish habit: Probably excessive buying. I’m currently on a ban so I can get my TBR shelves down. It’s two shelves now, when I get it to one I’m reorganizing all of my books!

X marks the spot: start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book: My bookcase is all the way upstairs so I’m counting 27 books ago on goodreads. Some Like it Hot: Me, Marilyn and the Movie. by Tony Curtis with Mark A. Viera

Your latest book purchase: I bought Beauty Queens by Libba Bray and Cinder by Marissa Meyer!

ZZZ-snatcher (last book that kept you up all night): The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
